I woke up
by Vivek Mukherjee
I wake up,
In an inverted world,
Where I still loved her,
And she was mine.
I wake up,
In a dreamy world,
Where I held her,
And walked the land.
I wake up,
In an embrace of life,
Feeling her breath,
On my parched skin.
I remember the days,
Where we spent, trying to
Come as close to one another,
As we huddled closer and closer, together.
But now……
I wake up,
In an inverted world.
A world from below,
A world, hollow.
