Inside a Ceramic [S]Hell

Inside a Ceramic [S]Hell

Steam hovers . . . waiting . . .

                                                for the touch

of a tentative tongue’s breathing

lap 1.  A stroke of time begins

to form:  slightly hesitant in-

haling.  Warm[th]             up              then nostrils

                              flows        to lips

flare.  Follow.

                           Step 2.  Skin touches

liquid.  Repeating quick successions.  Color

and calming sanity

settle.  Over 3.  The amber vortex

is evaporating.

It’s molecules seeping seductively

into my own.  Rationale:  two tiny printed words . . .

caffeine free.

A light is switched off

                                      4.  The evening is gone.
