Times of Change
by Meghan Feldman
So many footsteps once echoed here.
Voices once rose, swirling, to the skies.
Busy people doing busy things.
Whistles wailed, tracks screeched.
This old cement street was once littered
With bits of peoples’ stories,
Their tickets, wallets, posters.
The ever-undulating crowds now replaced with silence.
For people have moved on, leaving weeds and dust bunnies
to drift about the station.
Leaving what they once were
to become something new.
And leaving me,
Alone,
Waiting.
Remember what I was?
Just look at me now.
