Hope With In The Mind
by Agnes Clarke
Jumbled and jangled as a scrapheap in disarray
Thoughts mixed like moonbeams touching puddles displayed
Heartache and sorrow that touches the soul
Hope is the saviour as the years take their toll
Innocent and young with the world at your feet
Each moment a pleasure as days end complete
Adventure no problem lets create something great
Friends full of laughter no spite and no hate
Now join the rat race where business competes
Learning to live and to others relate
Those signs of danger needing to know when to stop
Orders must be taken they come from the top
Character built with a clear mind that is true
Annoyed when expected that something nasty to do
Standing by principles that others ignore
So called friends made and lost while honesty deplored
Hindsight is telling as the mind tries to correct
That jumble of scrap that we must inspect
Jumbled and jangled each piece to sort free
Our conscience as guide with friend “Hope” endlessly
