Even their name is a lie,

they are neither one nor the other.

From here, they look like autumn underwater

like leaves under the sea.

Red and orange, vibrant, familiar,

yet wrong, just

obscured by light.

No limbs, and all limbs.

Mouth which is both stomach and anus,

A bit like some people I know.

But then

They look cute

like decorations or

a promise of a distant world,

like ours, but

further away

and observed through a camera lens.
