~ you have UP TO one thousand (1000) words to use, not a single word over that limit. Your piece can, of course, be as short as you like. Fiction or poetry are welcome.

~ deadline for submissions: Sunday 25th October 2009 at 23:59 GMT (UK Time zone).

~ one submission per person.

Special prize

A single, winning, person is going to be lucky enough to have their piece chosen to receive a print of Chris’ artwork, as a prize.

The above image is by Chris Howard – novelist, short-story writer and artist – taking centre stage as the inspiration/prompt behind the submissions.

Chris’ first novel Seaborn (Juno Books) was released in July 2008. His short stories have appeared in a bunch of places, mostly online zines including Fantasy Magazine. In 2007 he won the Heinlein Centennial Short Fiction Contest.
